By law you must use a Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) approved disinfectant when there is an outbreak of a notifiable disease. Notifiable diseases can be:
* Endemic already present in the UK,
such as bovine TB
* Exotic not normally present in the UK,
such as Foot & Mouth, Swine Vesicular
Disease and Avian Influenza
